Ruben Milton Barra

Born in Montevideo on May 8, 1932.
Since he was young he was attracted to art and began working in the sculptor and restorer's workshop German Oscar Loevenich, who introduces him to the art world.

He studied at the National School of Fine Arts, one of his teachers being the sculptor and draftsman Juan Martín and morebriefly Nerses Ounanian. He continues to train with the painter Clarel Neme and later with the teacher Guillermo Fernández.
He is studying painting and sculpture restoration at the Paul Coremans Institute (Mexico City) and later he received a scholarship from the Istituto Superiore per la Conservazione ed il Restauro (Rome, Italy).
Since 1953 he has held various group and individual exhibitions, highlighting hissamples in the Vaz Ferreira Hall, Italian Institute of Culture, Solari and Dodecá Museum.

He has worked in various techniques, drawing with graph and ink, watercolor and ink; painting on canvas, wood, metal and stone; assemblies in polychrome wood and metal; sculpture in wood and stone.
